OMEGA circa 1940, SOB (Savonnette) movement - Lot 148
OMEGA circa 1940, SOB (Savonnette) movement
Wristwatch with round chromed case, patinated dial (silvered in the past), Arabic numeral hour-markers, seconds at 6 o'clock, mechanical Sob (Savonnette Omega B) movement, caliber 26.5 T2, back engraved with a dedication, new black leather strap.
D. 30 mm
(Good case condition, dial discolored yellow with silver remnant, minor oxidation, works, to be overhauled)
Introduced in 1926, the caliber 26.5 was one of the brand's first mass-produced wristwatch movements.
These watches are quite sought-after by collectors, as this movement is derived from the onion watches of the 1930s, but built for wristwatches.
Charming dedication on the back: "Frank Harrison 20th Jan. 1940 From Edna".
