[Occupation press]. Pariser Zeitung.German occupation daily, August 21, 1941 (no. 218) -August 11, 1944 (no. 206) [5 issues before the end of publication]. Approx. 900 issues. In-folio of 4 to 12 pp. The German edition with the French page until its suppression on December 22, 1942 (no. 352). The Pariser Zeitung (PZ) was a daily newspaper published throughout France during the German occupation of France in the Second World War, and was the mouthpiece of the occupying power from January 15, 1941 to August 16, 1944. A generalist, the paper covered all aspects of current affairs: economics, war, social affairs, politics, culture and news, with articles by Raymond Signouret, Denise Petit and Georges Oltramare (under the pseudonym "Charles Dieudonné"), among others. The Pariser Zeitung appeared every weekday, on four pages on Mondays and eight to twelve pages on other days. Growing paper shortages forced the newspaper's volume to shrink to four or six pages a day in the final year. In May 1944, the Saturday and Sunday editions were merged into a weekend edition until the last month of the Occupation, with only three issues per week. Detailed list on request.
