[Manuscript]. CADET ROUSSEL, Guillaume Joseph Rousselle, or Roussel, dit (1743, Orgelet (Jura)-1807, Auxerre), French bailiff of the city of Auxerre whose eccentricity was gently mocked in a song that bears his name. Autograph bailiff's writ signed, [Auxerre, January 20, 1806). 1 p. in-8°. Cadet Roussel extracted from prison the named André Bletron, condemned to 10 years of irons, "who was led by the executor of the criminal judgments of the court assisted by the armed force and attached to a gibbet planted on a scaffold set up for this purpose on the public square known as the fountains of this commune where he remained exposed to the eyes of the public for six hours"; he then had him brought back to prison at three o'clock in the afternoon
