Second Edition. Reveu et corrigée, Paris : Jean Gesselin, 1622. Small in-8 (17 x 12 cm) of [16], 421, [3] pp. Sig. ā8 A8-2C8 2D4. Soft full vellum, laces, manuscript title (period binding). Small lack of vellum in one corner, vellum a little stained, halos on about 50 f. On the whole a good and fresh copy, in its strict contemporary binding. Rare edition. Against the lack of knowledge of the "questions of practice", the author did a research in the "memoirs and secret registers of the best and most experienced practitioners". The work had many editions in the 17th century, it is dedicated to Pierre Tuillier (or Tullier), ordinary judge of Bourges. Provenance: several old handwritten ex-libris on the title and title page; stamp on the title and p. 111 ("M. Duchiez-Duprat. Avocat Avoué").
