"Will I promise you my prayers? Yes and no, according to your personal convictions. But I can promise you three, independently of any convictions this time, something else at the same time: events have led me, despite my advanced age [born in 1912, he was 77], to take on the task of repairing the Comtois bell towers covered in colored tiles, and to work with my roofing friends to make a new family of copper roosters. Alas... the rheumatism you continue to cure has kept me in a recliner for several months. Your latest analysis gives me hope. I'll probably be out of it soon. So, on my word, when I climb back up the scaffolding to see to the laying of the tiles and the roosters, I'll send you my grateful and best thoughts from the farthest reaches of heaven. Who could say it better among your customers? See in the familiarity of this letter a sign of gratitude and joy." (complete list of works in the box on request)
