[Manuscript]. CADET ROUSSEL (Guillaume Joseph Rousselle, or - Lot 187
[Manuscript]. CADET ROUSSEL (Guillaume Joseph Rousselle, or Roussel, dit) (1743, Orgelet (Jura)-1807, Auxerre), French bailiff from the town of Auxerre whose eccentricity was gently mocked in a song that bears his name. Autograph signed bailiff's summons, [Auxerre, January 20, 1806]. 1 p. in-8°. CADET ROUSSEL extracted from prison the named André BLETRON, sentenced to 10 years in irons, "who was led by the executor of the court's criminal judgments assisted by the armed force and tied to a gibbet planted on a scaffold erected for this purpose in the public square known as "des fontaines" in this commune, where he remained exposed to public view for six hours"; he then had him taken back to prison at three o'clock in the afternoon.
