Lithographs in bistre (55.5 x 37.7). James Duffield Harding's original lithograph, "Dijon", dated and initialed in stone lower left, "Dijon, Oct., 1834, J D H" is from his famous series, Sketches at Home and Abroad, completed and published in 1836. In collaboration with the best lithographic printer of the time, Charles Joseph Hullmandel, the large prints in this set were among the first to use tinted stones, further enhanced with Chinese white.
Some foxing, stains and small tears in margins. Harding's engraving is missing in the lower left corner.
