Labyrinth. Monthly journal of Letters and Arts. Editor Alber - Lot 425
Labyrinth. Monthly journal of Letters and Arts. Editor Albert SKIRA, published in Geneva. Complete collection. N° 1 to 23, October 15, 1944-December 1946. In-folio, various numbers of pages according to the issues, between 12 and 20 pages, the last issue, double, has 28. After having directed the journal Minotaure in the 1930s, Albert Skira launched the publication of Labyrinthe (1944-1946) at the end of the war, in collaboration with Giacometti and Balthus. Skira wanted to offer a "platform" for expression to Parisian intellectuals and artists who had been deprived of it during the war. It welcomed, among others, Apollinaire, Eluard, Soupault, Claudel, Sartre, but also artists such as Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Brassaï and Giacometti, whose Le Rêve, le Sphinx et la Mort de T. was published in the last issue (n° 22-23, December 1946). Central fold. Small tear on the first page of n°1 and on the last page of the last issue. Rare complete with all its issues.
