Fawn calf, 4 ribbed spine with fleurons, tan morocco t.p., gilt roulette on the edges, red speckled edges (contemporary binding). First edition. Controversy over the location of Portus Iccius, Caesar's port of embarkation for the invasion of England. The author opposes Chifflet. Long old handwritten note to upper flyleaf, spine restored, small lack to title-piece, small marginal worm-work without affecting the text.
