[Haute-Saône]. Seigneury of RAZE, about fifteen kilometers f - Lot 312
[Haute-Saône]. Seigneury of RAZE, about fifteen kilometers from VESOUL. Important collection of documents, mainly 18th-early 19th century [a few 15th-century documents] concerning, among other things, the history of the estate and the ROUX de RAZE family, who acquired the seigneury in 1745. Several members of this family held prestigious positions, including Claude François (1758-1834), who was a member of the French National Assembly from 1789 to 1791. His signature, preceded by 11 autograph lines, appears at the bottom of the document with framed seal, Vesoul, June 26, 1788 (the château subsequently belonged to the BRESSAND, ROCHET, BOUVIER and SECHAYE families). Château de RAZE was occupied by the painter DAGNAN-BOUVERET (1852-1929) from 1894 to 1896; however, the 19th-century paintings are of little interest, unless they relate to the painter Dagnan-Bouveret (1852-1929), who occupied Château de Raze from 1894 to 1896; the Musée de Vesoul holds several of his paintings. Autograph letters signed "de Raze" adessées de Salins, July 8, 1719, March 9, 1720, July 15, 1720 [?] to REBILLOT, procureur à Vesoul, drafts from other hands, inventories and various deeds.
