Publisher's full blue and gold cloth decorated with bunches of grapes and sheaves of wheat, bisque boards, blue and green tabis endpapers on a gold background. Issued in an edition of 1000 copies, this one nominative for M. JOMEAU, no. 553/980 on papeteries du Marais vellum, with a double suite in black of the colored hors-texte plates (36 plates and 2 title vignettes). Text from the Vulgate with French translation opposite, followed by explanatory notes by the painter. Binding a little faded, weakened in volume II with the first few pages up to the false-title partly detached; interior very fresh. A good copy, however.
